News Release Assignment - 50 PEOPLE ARE BACK AT WORK IN VICTORIA TODAY

50 Victoria residents and 200 people altogether in Canada are back at work this morning
as new business opportunities in China opens up for the National Widget Company.
This enables the company to rehire all the previously employed who were laid off last
year.
200 Canadians lost their jobs in June 2019 due to the, at that time, decreasing sales in the market.
Now, six months later the market has taken an, according to the president of the NWC
Andrew Bryce, “unprecedented” turn.
The later part of 2019 turned out to be a flourishing time for widgets in Asia and unlike previous
years, it is not oil industry who pushes the sales this time. China, especially, will be one of the
big future customers as the use of widgets will be needed for every new building in the country.
NWC were fast to see this opportunity which resulted in them being the first widget company
ever to make a deal with China.
“This represents opportunity and a secure market on which to expand our capacity”  president
Bryce says and announces that the company plans on calling in their employees in Victoria
as needed over the next couples of weeks and intends to be operating at full capacity within
six weeks.
“As a family-owned company, it was heartbreaking to lay off so many loyal people so we are
thrilled to be offering employment to people we consider part of the family” President Bryce
consludes.
